Last night, 3rd June, the owners held an EGM to elect a new President, Vice President, and Administrator. The vote for Fernando Broome, the replacement for ACV, was overwhelming and brings immediate savings of almost €5,000 a year.
Manuel Guzmán won the Presidency, but Mariah came a close second and didn’t make it easy for him. Ildefonso was unopposed as Vice President and was a hugely popular choice for all his hard work making these long-needed changes a reality.
We now have a young, dynamic, Spanish management team who are 100% committed to the success of the urbanisation.
I am sure Mariah will work with the new administration on the building project. We have the seed funding to get things started. And with Mariah, a Civil Engineer working at the Port Authority, we potentially have a key and expensive role in our building project that we can now get for free.
A critical change in management is that now both the President and Vice President live here full time and are both Spanish. Although neither is stipulated by law, anything less is generally considered poor governance.
